Once you open the “Torch Application”, there are four secret screens (Figure above): the “FAKE PASSCODE SCREEN”; the “EDIT LOG SCREEN”; the “PEEK LOG SCREEN”; and the “SETTINGS SCREEN”. These are all activated by DOUBLE TAPPING in the different areas of the main Torch Application screen.

The Settings screen is the most important screen when you first download this Application.

Here, you can change the settings to suit the routines you perform the most.

You need to turn this option ON, for the FORCE PASSCODE to unlock the FAKE PASSCODE SCREEN.

We recommend this option if you don't want any mistakes during Performance.

Here you can set the “PEEK LOG SCREEN” to appear when you open the Application.

This is nice because you can have all the last performance’s information looking at you, so you can reveal that too.

Tap the TORCH POWER BUTTON  to make the PEEK LOG SCREEN screen dissapear.

Here you can START LOGGING INFORMATION IMMEDIATELY (0), or after the 1st try to the 15th try.

This is very useful because maybe you want to delay the logging of information, which will allow you to routine your performance the way you want to.

You can select the number of tries before the App starts recording the entries.

To setup the App for performance, TAP TWICE UNDER THE POWER SIGN of the main myTorch Application screen to get the FAKE SLIDE TO UNLOCK SCREEN to display. The application is now ready for Performance.

Give your iPhone to a spectator and ask them to try to unlock it. Your FAKE SLIDE TO UNLOCK SCREEN will be presented to them. Tell them to try their YEAR OF BIRTH, their PIN CODE, and then their iPHONE PASSCODE, in that order. The FAKE PASSCODE SCREEN will replicate the WRONG PASSCODE WOBBLE EFFECT of the four dots at the top of the screen on every attempt. Now, tell them to try a few more times, just to prove that it doesn't unlock after the fourth or fifth try. You now pretend to send the digits, one at a time, from your mind to theirs. During this process you will use the desired method to trigger the next 4 digit code to unlock the FAKE PASSCODE SCREEN.

iUnlockYourMind PRO

A spectator is able to read your mind, and correctly guess your iPhone Passcode. You are then able to read the spectator’s mind, and unlock their iPhone.

“When I tell people that I'm a mind reader, the first thing they say to me is: what am I thinking about now?”

“But the thing is, it just doesn't work like that. If I say to you, ‘Think of ANYTHING,’ your mind will have a flash of ideas and images, and your mind just gets clouded with thoughts, and it’s very difficult to read a mind like that. So, I have to get someone to focus on specific bits of information.”

“Names, places and numbers—numbers are a good start. That’s how I practiced, and that’s how it's possible for me to read minds now.”

“Numbers are the easiest to start with. In fact, I'm going to show you how it’s possible, for someone like yourself, to read minds.”

“Here, take my iPhone for example. You have no idea what my passcode is, do you?”

“I want you to take my iPhone and to try to unlock it. But bear in mind that most people use numbers that have a link to specific things in their lives.”

“So it would make sense if I used something like my year of birth as my passcode, or something similar. But, I can tell right now, my passcode has no link to me personally in my life.”

“Wouldn't it be amazing, if my passcode was linked to someone I have never met before, until now?”

“Try your own year of birth.”

“What about your card pin?”

“Ok, try your own iPhone passcode.”

“Doesn't work, does it?”

“Ok, just try a few more times; see if you can guess what it is.”

“No luck!”

“If I could do that, it would be pretty amazing, right?”

“Ok, you didn't unlock my iPhone, and that's because you really don't know what my passcode is, and there is no way I could have known information about someone I have never met before.”

“I'm going to show you how it's possible for someone like yourself to read thoughts.”

“Sounds crazy, doesn't it?”

“What I want you to do next, is really have an open mind and really focus on the digit I am going to try and send to you.”

“When you think you know what that first digit is, type it in.”

“I'm sending you the first digit now.”

“Did you change your mind or did you go with your first choice?”

“I changed my mind.” (*See notes for alternative answer.)

“Ok, it's important that you don't change your mind; just go with what comes to your mind first. Delete that digit and enter your first choice.”

“Just go with what feels right.”

“I'm not going to tell you anymore whether it's right or wrong, but I will say this, you really need to go with the first digit that comes to your mind; just trust your thoughts, Ok?”

“I'm sending you the second digit…now!"

“Got it?”

“Put that in, too.”

“The third, I'm sending…now!"

“Have you got that?”

“Ok, just before you put in that last digit, think about this for a moment. There is no possible way that you could know what my passcode is, is there?”

“So, if you get this correct, and you unlock my iPhone, I think that would be a very amazing thing indeed, wouldn't it?”

“I'm sending you the last digit now.”

“Put the last digit in…now!"

“Fantastic! You received my thoughts.”

“So that's how I do what I do—I just go with the thought that feels right.”

“Now, that's me sending thoughts to you, and you picking up on what I'm sending you.”

“Let's try this the other way around. I want you to try and send me your thoughts and I'll see if I can receive them.”

“Pass me your iPhone please.”

“Ok, seriously, I have no idea what your passcode is.”

“I want you to just focus on the first digit and send it to me…now!"

“Ok, I'm just going with my first impressions here.”

“3, is that correct?”

“Great! Send me the second digit.”

“5, correct!”

“Send me the third.”

“Ok, got that.”

“Now the last one.”

“Got it!”

“Again, think about this, there's no way I could know what your passcode is, so the only possible way, is mind reading.”

“You may need to change your passcode now.”

“Thank you, you have been awesome!”

“Did you change your mind or did you go with your first choice?”

“I changed my mind.”

“Ok, it's important that you don't change your mind; just go with what comes to your mind first. Delete that digit and enter your first choice.”

“Did you change your mind or did you go with your first choice?”

“I went with my first choice.”

“Ok, it's important that you really think about your choices and don't just act on impulse. Delete that digit and really think about it this time.”

"I'm not going to tell you anymore whether it's right or wrong, but I will say this, you really need to think about what your receiving.”

The spectator slips into a trance state, and imagines being you. They imagine holding your iPhone and correctly typing in your iPhone Passcode. When they come out of that trance state, they really take your iPhone and correctly type in your Passcode and unlock your iPhone, proving they have a great imagination. You then slip into a trance state, and imagine being them and typing in their iPhone Passcode. You come back out of that TRANCE state, and unlock their iPhone.

“Most people believe that they have never been hypnotised before. But, it's untrue, we all have been hypnotised. In fact, it happens on a daily basis. If you don’t believe me, then let me prove my point.”

“If you drive, then you may remember not remembering how you drove from one place to another. You start your journey, and you slip into an altered state that allows you to be somewhere else in your mind and, at the same time, to be able to operate the controls, and even to avoid obstacles in the road.”

“Or, maybe you’re watching a film, and you get so into that film, that you slip into an altered state, and everything else around you just doesn't exist. You become the character you’re watching.”

“With numbers, if someone asks you what their mobile number is, watch them as they slip into an altered state, retrieve the information you need, and then tell you what their mobile number is.”

“So, it's numbers with which I want to try something.”

“Numbers play a big part of our lives; they mean so much to us.”

“Take my iPhone for example. I have a Passcode on here that is unique to me and my life. The code I have on here only exists because of who I am.”

“There is no way you could possibly know what that Passcode is, unless you were me, correct?”

“What I am going to do, is place you into a hypnotic state, and I'm going to get you to imagine you are me.”

“Does that sound like something you would be willing to try?”

“First, I want you to take my iPhone and to try the Passcode, as many times as you like.”

“Try your year of birth first!”

“Ok, what about the ages of your children?”

“Ok, then try your own iPhone Passcode.”

“Doesn't work, does it?”

“And you can try a few more if you like.”

“The reason why I want you to try is, I don't want you to think that this will work with any combination of numbers.”

“Now place it into your pocket for safe keeping.”

“Look at me, and just take a deep breath in through your nose... and out through your mouth.”

“Just relax…"

“I want you to concentrate on the weight of your eyelids…."

“In a moment, your eyes will start to feel heavy; you may start to notice that happening now, as your eyes start to blink.”

“Don't fight it, just relax and let it happen…."

“That's right, eyes feeling heavy, muscles relaxing now…."

“That's right…."

“Sinking and drifting, all the way down...deeper and deeper.”

“Just allow your eyes to close as you sink and drift deeper and deeper down.”

“With every breath you take, and every beat of your heart, you can go deeper and deeper down…."

“That’s right...that’s right…."

“You’re doing this perfectly…."

“As you sit there, I just want you to get a sense of being me. I really want you to imagine you are sitting where I'm sitting, feeling what I'm feeling, and seeing what I'm seeing.”

“Now, as you sit there, I want you to imagine taking out my iPhone, and you press the Home button.”

“The Passcode screen pops up.”

“I really want you to imagine you are me right now.”

“As you imagine you are me, just try to get a sense of what the first digit is….”

“What is it?”

“Ok, that’s good…."

“Type that into the iPhone.”

“What is the second digit?”

“Good...type that in.”

“And the third digit?”

“Type that in.”

“And the last digit?”

“Now, as you type in this last digit, I want you to imagine the iPhone unlocking….”

“Did you imagine that?”

“In a moment, I'm going to count from one to five. When I get to five, you will be back to full conscious, wakeful alertness, everything back to normal and feeling great, positive and looking forward to the future.”

“Ok, one...Take a deep breath in through your nose…and out through your mouth…."

“Two…Start to move your shoulders, as you become more alert….”

“Three...Take another deep breath in and feel a fresh feeling rush up through your body….”

“Four...Waking up now and feeling good….”

“Five...Open your eyes….”

“See, it's not scary, is it?”

“Ok…so I had you imagine you were me, and type digits into an imaginary iPhone, and those numbers were…3,4,7,1."

“Please, can you take out my iPhone from your pocket?”

“Please, very slowly, type in the first digit you typed in your imagination.”

“Now the second!”

“Was that a 4?”

“Ok, I can tell you right now, it's not a 4 but you are very close. Delete that, and type in what you think it might be, bearing in mind that you were very close.”

“Now type the third digit!”

“And the last digit!”

iPhone unlocks.”

“Thank you so much. It’s good being me…."

“Ok, I'm going to try this with your iPhone. Keep it in your pocket for now.”

“I'm going to slip into a trance state and to try to imagine being you.”

Here you mime slipping into a trance state and being the spectator. You mime taking out their iPhone and typing in their Passcode. Now you open your eyes.

“Can I have your iPhone for a moment?”

You type in the four digits in the Passcode and the iPhone unlocks.

“Thank you so much.”

“It was nice being you, although you have a dark past, don't you?”

The “Mind Reader” is able to reach into the minds and see memories of two spectators. The third spectator is able to reach in to mind of the “Mind Reader”, and see his memory from when he was a child. All this, is written down ahead of time, and then showed to the spectators. The “Mind Reader” then unlocks the spectator’s iPhone.

You, “The Mind Reader”, look intently into a lady’s eyes.

You then take a piece of paper and write down a thought. You fold up the paper and place it into a glass.

You then say to a her, “I'm seeing a memory of you, in a different country. Have you recently been on holiday?”

The spectator replies, “Yes!”

“Tell us where that was....”

“Spain!” replies the lady.

You, “The Mind Reader”, smile at her and turn to the next spectator and say, “I'm seeing a memory of you—you're shopping, you’re in London, and you’re with another lady. You know who this lady is, don't you?”

“Yes!” she replies.

You then write a second thought, fold it up, and place it into the glass.

You then say to her, “Please tell them the name of this lady you're with.”

“Veronica,” she replies.

You turn to the last person, a lady, and you say to her, “My gift is being able to see memories of people I have only just met—some people have this gift and don't even know it. Would you be amazed if you had that gift?”

“Yes!” replies the lady.

You then write something on another piece of paper, fold it up, and place that into the glass.

You then say to her, “I have a beautiful memory of when I was a child: I'm outside my house and I'm playing with some friends. I'm not going to tell you exactly how old I am, but I want you to get a sense of how old you think I am. Don't tell me just yet.”

“Have you got an age in mind?”

“Yes!” she replies.

“I'm playing outside, and there is this girl, Desire, the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, standing across the street. All the boys want to go out with her, but none of them have the courage to ask her out. I pluck up the courage to ask her out. I walk over to her and, on my way across the street, I'm thinking: what do I say to her? I hope I don't mess this up. Then the worst thing ever happens: I tripped and fell right in front of her and her friends—everyone laughed at me. I quickly got up and ran away to hide. I'm sitting with my back against a tree, my trousers are ripped, my hands are grazed, and I don't know how I can face her again, let alone face my friends. All of a sudden, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn and look up, and it’s Desire. She smiles at me and says, ‘Would you like to walk me home?’ ‘Yes, please!’ I replied. I got up, dusted myself off, and started walking with her. She held my hand as we passed all our friends that laughed at me, all the way to her front door. She thanked me for walking her home and gave me a kiss on the cheek. She went in her house and, just before she closed the door, she gave me a beautiful smile. Then, she closed her door. I was left standing and staring at her front door number. I stood there for what felt like eternity.”

“Can you see, what that door number is?”

“Yes!” replies the lady.

“Good, don't say what it is yet; keep that in mind.”

You then dump out all three pieces of paper from the glass. You open the first piece of paper and say to the lady, “You went on holiday. There is no way that I could have known where this place was, is there?”

She replies, “No!”

You tell her to open the piece of paper and to read aloud what it says.

“SPAIN.” The first thought is correct.

You turn to the second lady and ask her to open the second piece of paper. She does, and it reads, “VERONICA.” You are correct again, proving that you saw their thoughts.

You then turn to the last lady and say to her, “You have my age, and a door number in mind. Please open that last piece of paper.” She does and it reads “iPhone Passcode.”

You give your iPhone, that has been on the table from the beginning, to the other two spectators and ask them to try as many different combinations to unlock it as they desire. They can't. You then ask the last spectator to tell you how old she thinks you were in your memory.

“12!” she replies.

You tell the other spectator, holding your iPhone, to type those two digits into your Passcode.

You then, as an afterthought, tell the spectator that you think it will be more meaningful if the lady enters the digits herself.

You tell the spectator to delete what they entered and to give your iPhone to the lady to enter the numbers herself.

She does.

You then ask her, “What door number did you see in my memory?”

“76!” she replies.

You tell her to type that in, too.

She does, and your iPhone unlocks, proving that she saw your memory.

This is basically a one-ahead routine, but with a nice dodge for the last piece of information.

Write down “iPhone Passcode” on the first piece of paper, fold it up, and place it into a glass.

Now ask the lady to name the country she is thinking of. When she does, just smile as though you were correct. Let's say she wrote “Spain”.

Now you turn to the next lady and stare at her. You then write down “Spain”, fold it up, and drop it into the glass.

Now ask her to name someone she is thinking of. Let's say she says, “Veronica.”

You turn to the last spectator and then write “Veronica”, and then fold it up and place it into the glass.

You now follow the script provided, telling the story.

You now dump the pieces of paper out onto the table, mixing them up.

All you have to do now is reveal “Spain” first, then “Veronica”. Open the last piece of paper and it reads “iPhone Passcode”.

Now you go through the basic mechanics, explained above, to perform the effect.

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.

You write down, on a business card, your iPhone Passcode. You then show it to a spectator and ask them to unlock your iPhone, confirming that it is the correct Passcode.

You ask the spectator to sign the business card, and to remember the Passcode. You place the business card face down onto the table for later.

You then tap the spectator lightly on the forehead, and the spectator completely forgets the Passcode.

Now, ask them to try and unlock your iPhone—they can't.

You then ask them to pick up the business card they signed earlier, to remember what the Passcode is, and to enter that Passcode.

Your iPhone unlocks.

“Have you ever had that weird moment at home, where you walk into a room to get something, and you just stand there staring at the drawer, like you’re in a trance? You snap out of it, and you just can't remember why you walked into that room in the first place...can you?”

“There are three stages of memory: encoding, storage, and retrieval. Different factors influence the actual process of forgetting. For example, some say one of the factors could be the amount of time the new information is stored in your memory. But, the amount of time the information is stored in your memory, minutes hours or even days, can increase or decrease how well the information is remembered. So, I believe it's not how long you try to remember something, but how you encode the information, and that is the deciding factor of whether or not you ‘WILL’ forget.”

“So that's what we are going to try with you now.”

“Numbers...we all use them. Take my iPhone for example. I have a four-digit passcode, and nobody knows what my Passcode is, but you know that it contains a combination of four digits from 0 to 9. I could probably tell you my Passcode very quickly and you would most likely remember it correctly.”

“That’s because of the way we condition ourselves to encode information containing numbers.”

“I'm going to do this a bit differently. I am going to write my iPhone Passcode on my business card, I'll show it to you, and you will unlock my iPhone with it. Then I'm going to do something strange, and you’re going to completely forget my Passcode.”

“But first, I want you to try and unlock my iPhone, just to prove it’s really locked.”

“Can you try your year of birth?”

“What about your age, and your child's age, together?”

“Ok, try your own Passcode for your iPhone.”

“Again, nothing!”

“Ok, just try a few more times.”

“You can't unlock it, can you?”

“In a moment I'm going to show you my Passcode, but I don't want you to say it aloud, for security reasons.”

“Can you please type in my Passcode now?“

“Can you sign this for me? This will act as proof for later, because you may struggle to ‘remember forgetting.’

“In a moment I'm going to ask you to take some breaths. When you do, every time you exhale I want you to say ‘forget’ to yourself.”

“Look at me, right in the eye.”

“Take a deep breath in, and as you let it out, just say the word ‘forget.’

“Take a deep breath in, and let it out.”

“One last time to forget—take a deep breath in, and let it out.”

Tap the spectator on the forehead and say:

“Try and unlock my iPhone!”

“You have forgotten, haven't you?”

“That's ok, everyone does. Try it again!"

“Ok, take my business card and remind yourself.”

They type that code into your iPhone, and it unlocks.

Now you go on to unlock their iPhone.

The best part about this routine is, you end totally clean.

You have an OUT TO LUNCH WALLET or your own made-up version, with your business cards and an elastic band. The second card has your REAL PASSCODE for your iPhone on it, and the first card, the half card, has one of your FORCE PASSCODES on it.

Bring up the FAKE PASSCODE SCREEN. The spectator logs the first three pieces of information you need and then they can try any other combination. Now you show them your business card with your FORCE PASSCODE on it. They type that in, and your iPhone unlocks.

Now ask them to sign your business card.

As they sign it, exit out of the application, lock your iPhone, and place it onto the table.

Switch out the Business Card and place it face down onto the table. It now has their signature on the card, and your REAL PASSCODE on it.

Do your theatrical forgetting thing.

She can't unlock your iPhone because it's now your REAL PASSCODE. Tell her to remind herself and to look at the business card she signed.

She will now be able to unlock your iPhone, and her signature will be your proof that she really did forget.

Take back your iPhone, DOUBLE TAP THE HOME BUTTON, get your PEEK of her Passcode, and then unlock her iPhone.
